The catalogue, published jointly by the Historisches Museum Bern and the Groeningemuseum in Bruges, unfolds the cultural, social and political panorama of this epoch and documents the present state of research.

Essays present the personality of Charles the Bold, discuss the highly representative significance of works of art and describe the role they played in diplomatic ceremonial.
