Book to accompany the exhibitionThe book accompanying the exhibition “Art of the Celts” offers for the first time in the German language a survey of Celtic art from its origins to its decline. Transformations in political history, in cultural models and in the tone-setting upper class are dramatically reflected in Celtic artistic creation stretching over a millennium.
Leading experts in the field present the most important Celtic works of art in forty easy-to-understand contributions. Numerous large-format illustrations accompany the texts.
Author Felix Müller is head of the Archaeological Department in the Historisches Museum Bern and Honorary Professor at Bern University. In past years he has written numerous scholarly articles, monographs and popularizing works on the Celts. He is a distinguished authority and expert on the Celtic archaeology of Europe.
The book is being published in German, French and English editions
