The BHM LAB is a platform that facilitates debate on current social issues seen from a historical perspective.
The BHM LAB is designed to be a rehearsal stage, a test laboratory and a resonance chamber. This is reflected in its outreach activities, the topics it focuses on and the way it works. It is also opening up new paths in museum work: the public is kept abreast of what the Museum is doing, exhibitions are modified and it responds rapidly to current events - point by point, using the resources to hand and without fear or favour.
The BHM LAB takes a consistently collaborative approach, using the expertise of both its own staff and of external participants. In a series of projects, it is opening up space for critical questions and active listening.
