Archives

The archival holdings of our different collections contain important written documents about the history of the collections, in particular details of accessions (donations, purchases, deposits, records of archaeological finds and excavation data etc). They also contain documents on loan transactions, restorations, research records, index cards and inventory books. Correspondence with collectors is also a major source for the history of the items.
