Indexing of the ethnographical collection

 The Ethnographical Collection of the Bernisches Historisches Museum possesses an archive that was gathered over the years without any archival guidelines in place. It had never been catalogued. The vast majority of its documents cover the way the Ethnographical Collection was built up, for example correspondence about purchases and exchanges with other museums and collectors. It also contains sources, some of them of historical significance, that are important for the context of the items (inventories, field notes, dossiers and the diaries of donors such as Henri Moser).
